Pine Whites were flooding the parkway between Port Angeles and Heart ‘o’ the Hills in late August 2006. We saw a dozen at a time out the windshield.

Pine Whites settle with the wings folded, making a photograph of the dorsal side difficult.

If you see one with its wings spread—especially if it’s holding suspiciously still—look for a crab spider (slide 4).
